About Us
Our Mission
Currently, Netball is the most played female-dominated sport in the UK, and many girls and young women in areas of deprivation are unable to access the sport for various reasons. We hope to correct this and ensure that they can access Netball with the support needed for them to be successful in life.
We hope to provide a space for girls and young women to enjoy Netball, but also express themselves, work out who they are and who they wish to become.
We hope to use this unique opportunity to provide members of our organisation with the tools and guidance they need to help them navigate life and build their career skills. Our mission is to create a supportive community that fosters growth and development for the next generation of female leaders.
Our Story
When I founded AnyGirl Netball in 2021, my intention was to create a fun and accessible weekly session for all girls at Sandwell. I wanted to create a safe space for girls to be seen, heard and empowered.
When I discovered Netball at the age of 11, I was a shy, quiet Year 7 student who lacked confidence. Until, I became part of a netball team. This club provided role models to girls from one of the most deprived areas within the country, providing a purpose to the girls with no real focus in life. Very quickly, the coaches became family to all of us, and it was this support and trust we developed that made us unbeatable.
I couldn't believe that MY team, from an unknown, underfunded, deprived area, reached the England Netball Club and School finals - which doesn’t happen often.
This is where I learnt the invaluable lesson that the people around you provide you with the confidence to achieve anything. I know this because that’s how my team achieved their success. This is why I founded AnyGirl Netball: I know the importance of using sports to unlock greatness in young people.
